To Breathe In

Font Size

You get close enough for me to breathe in
the unique glow from every constellation
you made in my eyes with just a touch,
the meeting of our fingertips could be enough

To make these dangerous energies burst
and paint showers of every color across the sky.

Before then, you never knew the power
you held to make and unmake me,
and I never knew floating in such quiet
space was darker than any oblivion,
until following the sound of your voice.

Absorbing its light to endlessly radiate
through the columns and curves,
the bone and tissue that build me,
the region beyond tangible forms,
where I sense you the most.

I get close enough to you to breathe
in the universe scattering and forming again
just from the unique collision of you and I,
one true crash was more than enough

To gather these energies and matter,
weave new worlds of every shape,
every spectrum of light.

Before then, I never knew the power
you held to make and unmake worlds in me.

And now I could never float in lifeless space again,
once I began following the sound of your voice.

Absorbing its vibrations to endlessly shake
through the recesses and valleys,
the bone and tissue that hold
me together and the realms
beyond all we share where I sense you the most.
