The Garden Bench

I saw her in the Botanical Gardens arrayed in a pink calf length sundress. Her wide brimmed hat protected her pale complexion from the sun.

She knew where she was going, albeit at a leisurely pace, through the rhododendrons that created walls of magical hues of reds and pinks. Carved into the wall was a hollow, and in the hollow, a bench where she paused to take her seat

Caressing her core with deft fingers, her prayerful song rose to meet the song of the birds

Her regular pilgrimage to the seat in memory of her dear departed husband.
