"Attending to the flight of song"

I thought to instruct the birds–
now, wings bowed and bound
I’m sinking in the diminishment
of a skylark’s looney tune

Larking, loose-limbed and giddy
turning skycarts in the dappled sun
while I, enchanted, shrink
To a little pool of bedazzlement–
