Seasons

"In recognition of the Autumn Equinox (or Spring to my friends south of the Equator)."

Font Size

As the sun gets lower

The nights grow longer than ever

The warmth and joy of Summer

Feels like it’s gone and returning never

Winter moves in with fingers of ice

Bringing with it cold and fear

Tearing away the last vestige of light

Spending its time removing all cheer

Breaking the soil, lifting their heads

Shoots of flowers, push through the beds

The promise of Spring

Granting thoughts of hope as she spreads

Blazing bright upon my back

Summer’s sun warms me through

Turning to face her

I see my love shining too

Oh how I yearn for Spring

Life growing anew

Then Summer with my angel

Forever, never more to rue

The dread of the coming Winter

Makes me hate this Autumn more

Bring me Spring and Summer

Where our souls, together can soar
