Time slowly ticking away
Minutes seem like hours
Hours like days
Waiting till the clock strikes five
An hour passes, oh my god
It’s only been an hour
Since I pried myself away
From your strong, loving arms
Seven more hours and I’ll be home
Drifting off into outer space
Thinking about when I reach home
Another hour ticks away
One o’clock, time for lunch
Daydreaming of your warm strong arms
Wrapping around my skin, soft as silk
The lunch hour almost over
Snapping out of this daydream
Heading back to the office
Watching the clock as it stays on three
Thinking to myself
Two more hours, I focus back on my work
Diving back in, working hard
Not thinking about the time
I hear my office mates
Closing doors and saying goodbye
I look at the clock, now a half past five
I grab my bag, turn off the light
Rushing past some that stop to chat
Running to the door, racing to the car
Digging in my bag, pulling out my keys
Driving fast, obeying all the laws
Pulling into the driveway
I barely get it in, park
Before I jump out
Slamming the door
Rushing up the steps, onto the porch
To the big oak door
Fumbling with my keys
I hear you laugh as the door swings open
Looking up, my eyes meet yours
Seeing you standing there holding your arm out
I drop my stuff as I walk into your awaiting arms
Your strong arms wrapping around me
Pulling me close
For I am now
Safe in your arms again
You lift me, carrying me to the sofa
Arms around me as we sit and cuddle
Kissing your cheek
Say I love you
As I sit safe in your arms
