Safe From The Friend Zone

"Some people have to be plucked out from their oblivion"

Font Size

The stars twinkle

The silver moon glows

My lips’ corners curve up

Erasing my woes.

*

A simple man

With shy smiles

Did that to me

Across the miles.

*

He thinks he’s simple

I think he’s special

In his own ways

Maybe I’m partial.

*

He tells stories

That brighten my day

His silly jokes

Keeps the blues at bay.

*

He’s not so friendly

But not scary

When you know him

He’s extraordinary.

*

He loves his family

And his few friends

The extent of his care

Is at the rainbow ends.

*

This man deserves

Like any other man

The love and care

From the right woman.

*

Who may be right

May not be the best

And who may be best

May not be his conquest.

*

When I asked him

What she is like

The woman he desires

Down the pike.

*

He said she is

Brunette for one

But won’t kick a blonde

If she is The One.

*

He has preferences

I know he’s picky

He gained that right

At least not finicky.

*

He likes his woman

To understand him

His needs, wants and likes

Shared with vigour and vim.

*

He isn’t selfish

Don’t get me wrong

He gives more to each

Than an old man’s lifelong.

*

Physical attraction

Is just as important

As personality goes

He is expectant.

*

He likes the woman

Having the curves

For his hands to explore

And calm his nerves.

*

I rolled my eyes

I just can’t help it

His honesty at times

Lacks any censorship.

*

He told me more

It made more sense

The only pitfall

The woman was dense.

*

All this time

He told me about her

I never thought

He has been my admirer.
