Ode to Tentacles

Font Size

Living beneath the deep blue sea
Monster feared by ship and fleets
Teasing under breaking waves
Foamy tension cut with feelers great

Giving myself, sacrificial goat
Splayed out for you like piece of meat
Suction cups of ancient lore
Stick to me until I’m sore

Within the pitch black night of caves
Your never-ending form
Lurking in the dark abyss
You wait

Twisting, turning, glowing tips
Threatening to make me rip
Our bond etched on the cavern wall
To stay there until time falls

Knowing what I crave
Like rock, like stone, you are my crystal
Stalactites hover over me
All the while you make me scream

Up in space afar
Silent vacuum hears no screams
You do to me as you please
Probing curiously
Prying cautiously

Searching, feeling deep inside
You fill me up until I cry

Why is it I love you so
When you wrap around my body
I know I should just go
To normal life with normal lover

But Cupid seems upset with me
Or impressed by me
For with his arrow he did shoot
Me in the heart three times

Each prong painful
Aching for my mythic lovers
Searching for you far and wide
I’ll keep looking till I die
