Mockingbird Orbit

"Surrendering to love under the stars"

Font Size

Dark goes the Moon in its mockingbird orbit.
Dark shines the stones in my lover’s lost ring.
Free flies the mockingbird out of dark cover.
Lost cries the dark at the sound of the wing.

The silent one waits and gracefully hovers
O’er daydreams of silver and answers of gold.
What can be said that has not been awoken?
What can be heard that is somewhere untold?

Pushing the bound’ries of loving invention,
Casting ideas from the portals of mind,
Romantic flirtation to heavenly submission,
Wired to each other like gods of a kind.

Furtively, flirtively, the glow of the embers
Cast their wan light upon faces around.
Thump go our hearts in synchronous fusion.
‘Love’ is the whisper of mockingbird sound.

Fearing the pangs of compulsive rejection,
Hard harks the ear for my love’s revery.
Desperate the heart for another’s acceptance,
Seeking to find Eden’s first memory.

Dark of the Moon above our pale bodies,
Dark of the Earth below our embrace.
Glimmer your ring in sparkling reflection.
Slowly I bend and kiss your warm face.

Up flies the mockingbird echoing our passion,
Flash goes the ring as we’re becoming as one.
Lost cries my heart at your carnal surrender,
Found cries your heart as our climax is done.

Dark goes the Moon in its mockingbird orbit.
Dark shines the stones in my lover’s lost ring.
Free flies the mockingbird out of dark cover.
Lost cries the dark at the sound of the wing.
