For many years we had lovely times.
I think of you every day.
Numerous photos our cameras took,
Making many wonderful memories.
Sadly all stopped when you fell ill
And could no longer walk too far.
The last night I saw you was sadness,
Great sadness, indeed.
Not knowing it would be the last.
We said our Good Nights.
We hugged with teary eyes,
Knowing you’d ne’er return home.
Preparing to visit the next morn,
The call told me you had passed.
Seven days later I said my last goodbye,
As I escorted you to the hearse.
I stood there with great sadness,
Watching as you were silently taken away.
