Locked Out In The Snow

"I probably should’ve just stayed inside. But where’s the fun in that? Note: the pic for the story is not me."

This was a couple of years after we got married, right after we moved into a new neighborhood. I wasn’t working yet, so I was home during the day, cleaning up the living room like a good, responsible wife…

At least at first.

We had this big front window that looked right out onto the street, and as I was picking things up, I noticed the mail carrier coming down the road. He was still a few houses away. Close enough to notice… but not close enough yet. At that moment, I had my robe on. And I don’t know what came over me, but I remember thinking, Okay… let’s see what happens.

So, I slipped the robe off. And kept cleaning like nothing had changed. I had on a pair of white bikini panties, and that was it. No lights on in the room, just daylight coming through the window, so everything felt a little softer, but definitely visible.

I moved around the room slowly, just enough to stay in view without making it obvious. At least, not too obvious. When he got in front of the house, I could see him out of the corner of my eye. He looked over, looked away, then did that quick double take.

I didn’t react. Didn’t even look at him. Just kept doing what I was doing like I had no idea. Which, honestly, made it a lot more fun.

He stared for a few seconds, then finished at our mailbox and kept walking. But I knew. And that was enough to leave me standing there with this little smile like, Okay… that just happened.

And then I had a worse idea. I thought, What if I actually go outside like this?

So I did.

I slipped on my snow boots—because yes, it was January and freezing—and walked right out the front door. And wow, it was cold. I made it down the driveway pretty quickly, grabbed the mail, and turned around, already feeling that mix of what am I doing and this is kind of exciting.

Got back to the door… reached for the handle… Locked.

I just stood there for a second like, You have got to be kidding me.

No phone. No robe. No way back inside. And it was cold enough that standing there wasn’t an option for long.

So, I did the only thing I could think of. I started walking. There was a convenience store about half a mile away, and somehow that felt like the best plan I had. So, there I was, walking down the street in snow boots and not much else. I kept a pretty quick pace. Not quite running, but definitely not taking my time either.

A couple of cars passed, but no one slowed down or got close enough to really tell what was going on. Still, I was very aware of myself. By the time I got to the store, I was half laughing, half freezing. I went inside and told the guy working there what happened, which I’m sure was not the most normal conversation he had that day.

But, he was actually really nice about it. Let me use the phone and even handed me his coat while I waited.

I called my husband, explained everything, and he started laughing before I even finished. He got there in about 15 minutes, but it felt longer.

When he pulled up, I told him the whole story, and he just looked at me, smiling, shaking his head. And then he said, “We need to do more things like that.”

I looked at him and said, “We?”

And he just grinned and said, “Well… you.”

It was a fun evening for sure once we got home!

I know this might be quite boring compared to the other stories on Lush, but I’m not really good at making up fantasy versions. So, I thought I would write a story about something that happened to me that was a little adventurous, even though part of it wasn’t planned.

Thank you for reading it!
