Is this me?

"A short love poem"

Font Size

Is this my body?
Alone, apart from the tapping of keys,
Unlocking your soul and spirit across the ether,
Bowed by your elegance and fuelled by desire.

Is this my desire?
Words that arouse and stimulate my mind.
Turning my body into a priaptic state.
Wishing for, but knowing the futility of distance and dreams.

Is this my dream?
Wanting to ease your burden and brighten your face.
Feeling the tightening of my heart as the screen sings your name?
Knowing that our souls define our fate.

Is this my fate?
A field of dreams, drifting on empty desires.
Wants, hopes and wistfulness, drifting in the ether.
A lack of tangibility, everywhere save in my heart.

Is this my heart?
A fragile shell threatening to break,
And spew forth the albumen of fancy and fear.
The fancy of want and the fear of being devoid of love.

Is this my love?
A bottomless well of emotion.
So exquisitely painful and deliciously unfulfilled.
A childish reality spent catching moonbeams.

Is this my reality?
Working no longer for money.
Existing no longer for me.
Just counting the beats until the dance begins again.

Is this me?
