"Does one's love last longer than an everlasting's?"

Font Size

He revived her

like a wilting flower

watered her with love

nurtured her back to life.

He let her be herself

like wild flowers do

to let her grow in strength and beauty

to thrive in his comfort.

He attended to her needs

like one arranges flowers with care.

His gestures

are sweeter than nectar.

His words

are delicate as petals.

He opened her eyes

to a new world

watching her blossom

to see her beauty

in the beauty

of the world around her.

He warmed her heart

like flowers under the sun’s rays.

He livened her up

her vibrant colours

brought out the best in her.

He adored her

as the flower does the sun

maybe more than he’d admit

from what she saw

and felt it from him.

He breathed in her scent

more exotic than fragrant flowers

knowing it’s intoxicating

yet inhaling it was his desire.

He did not pick her,

cut and placed in a vase.

He let her live through

until the last petal fell.

He awaited her return

like flower buds each spring

that bloom and mature

like an everlasting.
