How Do I Love Thee?

"Elizabeth Barrett Browning answered in her Sonnet 43, this is my answer."

A poet once said, “How do I love thee?”
She went on to explain all the ways
How do I love thee?
I couldn’t explain though I talk to the end of days

When we are together
My world spins around
Holding you close
My feet leaving the ground

When we part I say, “I love you,”
You say, “I love you more,”
I know you do, but I don’t know how
My love is so vast and secure

We made a fair deal
Your heart for mine, my soul for yours
To keep safe with us
On our far distance shores

When we’re apart it hurts like hell
A huge chasm in my world
With your heart beating in me
Your presence is unfurled

The warmth from our souls
Wrapping us tight
Keeping us safe
Through one more black night

The night brings the land of dreams
Once more we touch and hold
And dance through the night
A beauty to share in our protective fold

How do I love thee?
Let me tell you the ways
I simply love you, my petal
From here to the end of days
