Two souls wandering about aimlessly.

Don’t know where they are going

Don’t remember where they came from

Passing each day and night and losing their light

Both have loved and lost, what was important to them

Their hope and dreams of finding love again dwindle

As time passes this man, this woman meets in a coffee shop

The table that she is sitting at has the last chair available.

He asks if she would mind him sharing the table

She looks at him, smiling and says, “please sit.”

One cup of coffee turns into two, and then into three.

Time has slipped away. Now both are late for work and must leave.

He tells her he would like to see her again, holding his breath until he hears her reply. “I would like that.”

They smile and shake hands goodbye, exchanging phone numbers

As they walk away, both of them are thinking, what if this is my chance

To become whole again.
