Fighting Desire

"Sometimes the passion we feel is hard to admit, even to ourselves."

Looking into passion’s eyes,
Looking back so pained.
Seeing fire, burning, seething,
As she fights, keeping it contained.

Ecstasy lies a touch away,
All she must do is reach.
But she holds on tight to her control,
Though her desire affects her speech.

Words catch in her supple throat,
Her eyes cry out my name.
Conversation stays mundane,
But passions build just the same.

I smile at watching vain attempts
To control the creature held inside.
She struggles with her very being,
As quietly, time, I bide.

Waiting, knowing one day she
Shall stop combating her desires.
Burning bright I’ll stand with her,
Consumed in our lustful fires.
