“Your pumpkin spiced latte,” I say, tapping the shoulder of the woman I’m serving. She turns, her dark eyes catch mine. I try to look away, but I can’t move. I try to speak, but can only whimper.

A veil falls and I’m somewhere else. A dark room, the air rich with unfamiliar scents, shadows dancing by candlelight. And the woman, looming over me, her eyes like midnight pools.

She smiles and I’m enchanted. I want this. Her lips brush my neck, my heart quickens. A familiar warmth pulses between my legs.

“Mine, forever,” she whispers, ending me. Beginning me.
