“Blind”

When I first laid my eyes upon you

Just like a snap shot, I would have no clue

As to where this brand new relationship would go

Considering how much we tote around our cargo

My eyes are wide open as if I just finished a fresh cup of coffee

Your words make me suspicious, skeptical, curious, and leery

But somehow you managed to hang around long enough

For us to get into a little bit of mischief

Setting aside all my previous doubts from my past relationships

Let’s see if I can make a touchdown without letting her slip through my fingertips

It’s moments like this when your vision becomes a bit blurred

When I begin to stumble on such simple a word

Holding hands while we glide down the streets

Or resting your head on my chest while you listen to my heartbeats

I wrap my arm around your wait to pull you closer into me

Attached to my hip is where I want you to be

I can’t fathom a day not waking up beside you

Making a life surrounding my family and of course my nephew

There are no limits as our families now intertwine

We rise for a toast, share a few laughs with friends and wine

Moving closer to a special date you’ve chosen

I should put you in jail for as my heart has been stolen

Like a thief in the night, you whisked away my soul

My eyes are completely shut as love has taken its hold
