Together, all our love
this night, was for
our children’s dreams.
Their tiny toys
and bits of sweets,
safely wrapped beneath our tree.
Rewarded by their innocence,
their joy of life,
and their sweet repose.
It warms my heart,
and it warms yours, too
to give them all of those.
Our family sings
and loves and laughs
on this Christmas eve.
And with them
in their happy place,
The safety of their dreams.
I see you glow
as beautifully
as you were to me.
On this night
so long ago.
