A Stormy Sea

Font Size

It’s been a long LONG time since I’ve written any poetry. This came to me while watching a very stormy sea from my apartment window.

Waves come in, bursting with life
Rolling, breaking on my shore
Rising, falling, ebb and flow
Come calling at my door

Waves rush in, grinding down
Wearing smooth, making soft
Currents moving, fast and strong
Ocean forms hold me aloft

Waves burst free, wild and shining
Blue and green and black and white
I hear them call, I close my eyes
Crashes and flashes, brilliant light

Waves go out and leave behind their spray
Which washes through my soul
And then they’re gone, the tide has turned
All is calm
And whole
