A New Valentine’s Day Tradition

Font Size

Since this is not an ordinary year
Valentine’s Day seems a little trite
A year filled with death and tears
People consumed with a lot of fright

This year I plan to give blood
Perhaps save a few lives
It is better than a flower bud
It could help people to survive

I am a universal donor
My blood can help everyone
It is like finding a four-leaf clover
Giving blood is so much fun

In the spirit of the holiday
I will buy several treats
We will celebrate in many ways
Who doesn’t enjoy sweets

I will profess my love and affection
To my husband and best friend
Our lives have many imperfections
Will be a couple until the bitter end

Cards will be bought and exchanged
Will share a romantic dinner together
The words will not need to be explained
The sentiments will be quite tender

I am so thankful of our journey
Our love though can be difficult
Life has many worries
And is certainly not typical

In closing, there will be blood given
I will show my love and my kindness
This will start a Valentine’s tradition
During this nightmare of a virus
