Who helps both of us mend
Without ever complaining,
We both are still gaining.
We can laugh till we cry,
And we won’t just pass by.
It seems clear to me,
We almost always agree.
Every day I rush in
With the hope of a grin,
Where our teeth both shine bright
And we both see the light.
But with lives in the way,
It is so hard to say,
The true depth that I feel,
Could be less than ideal.
It is like pins and needles,
Makes me almost feel feeble,
Not able to share,
The true way that I care.
Does not matter to me
If it was not to be.
What we both seem to bear,
Is the caring we share.
If this seems not that bright,
You could help see the light,
With a pleasant exchange
Of my thoughts you find strange.
So what to do next,
Is not less than complex.
I will sit back and wait,
Standing next to her gate.
At times it takes quiet
To not start a riot,
And let the seeds grow
In the person we know.
Let me cling to my dream
And be happy with gleam,
While I watch and I stare
At my friend over there.
