Montana Night

Font Size

The Montana night is

cruel and you are no

where near

to protect me

from its silence.

It stabs

the essence

of my soul,

wresting me

from my sleep.

Shattering

your image,

robbing me

of holding you

even in my dreams.

Beside me

the sheets lay

undisturbed.

If only you

were there.

Guarding me,

sheltering me,

protecting me,

from the total

blackness.

Only there

in your arms

will I find

sleep.
