Mark The Horizon

Font Size

Mark the horizon
with your light,
a glowing note
I can always read
and keep with me.

Because when I look at stars,
I never see the math
or the science explaining them,
much like your cheek pressed
close to mine as we dance
away the night beneath
this clear and vast sky.

I don’t need explanations
for what is beautiful.

Glow for me alone,
because even if we part

We’ll never have to say goodbye.

Mark the horizon
with your light,
an eternal glow
I can feel through me
like the heat in our
absolute surrender.

Because the way you look at me
ignites something I can’t explain,
much like when your fingertips
gently traced along me once
and you said the troubled lines
on my face write dark, beautiful poetry.

You didn’t need to give
me any further explanation.

I was already glowing
for you alone by then,
a star’s most torched point
on your every map

So we never have to say goodbye.

Mark the horizon
with your light,
you’ve already lit
the rest of my world.

Because when I look at stars,
I forget distance and only feel
the absolute celestial glow,
much like our intensified
conductivity sparking inside
or the rainbows that seem
to burst behind your eyes.

I don’t need explanations
to know you’re beautiful.

To know we’ll never
have to say goodbye.
