I Became a Believer

"I knew it the minute I met you. I became a believer.~"

Any man can say words I long to hear

While slowly unzipping my satin dress

An audience of one as I step out naked

But not everyone believes in true love

Appreciating your soul as you bare it

Raw unapologetic absolute nakedness

To believe in love means hiding nothing

All the parts of yourself offered freely,

Two become one in a single existence.

For me love is about allowing another

To explore the dark corners of my soul

While holding their hand so delicately

Learning the exact spot to place kisses

As you memorize the way light reflects

Radiating off their bare exposed flesh

To believe in love means to crave more

Learning every single detail about them

Down to their most treasured memories

I now stand naked in front of the mirror

Seeing imperfections that you so adore

Your love taught me to believe in myself

Do you regret decisions you have made

As you followed your heart’s inner desires

Have you now become a believer of love

Not one detail about you is insignificant

And no story is retold too many times

I want to absorb every single word said

Especially the words you don’t say aloud.

Remember anyone can simply have sex

But love come to those who are believers

In  a DQ parking lot lost in your embrace,

I became a believer…
