Two

"What love appears to be to an old romantic like me."

When a man loves a woman,

with all his heart and soul,

with his mind and with his body,

and a fire burns below,

and nothing comes between them,

from what they must achieve.

Love’s written in the stars,

I truly do believe.

I truly do believe,

that we’re meant to be.

It’s as elementary,

as the shore and the sea,

as the highest mountain,

as a river and a stream,

as the cherry blossoms –

that awaken come the Spring.

Soft as a feather,

in leather and in lace,

the wing of a butterfly,

flutters on my face,

every time you kiss me,

and touch me tenderly.

Your love’s as elementary,

as the honey in my tea.

Honey in my tea,

and sugar in your smile,

your love’s as sweet as rain,

I’ll keep it for awhile,

until there is no heaven,

until there is no you,

until there is no me,

and

there

is one

where

there

was two.
