Thief of hearts

Font Size

Their eyes met cross a crowded room,
one was destined to be the other ones doom
for they’re playing a game and one might get took
‘Cause the thief of hearts is an expert crook

I know the game I’ve played once or twice
and all I’ve won is a heart cold as ice

Now sarcasm hangs on my lips, eyes a glare
tell me you love me, don’t ask if I care

I’m tired of games which no one can win
and living a life where I can’t possibly fit in

I’ve given up hope of finding a lover
after so many games, the thief is none other

So if you have any sense, stay away from this crook
the game is no fun when it’s you who gets took

“Disdain is mine,” says the thief
“all I have for you is grief.
This is one game, if you choose to play
you cannot win; Only pay.”
