In Memorium

"to those now departed"

Font Size

When voices are silent
Which my soul longs to hear
When people are absent
My heart starts to fear

They’re missing in action
are they lost to the cause?
No black box in caption
My breath I must pause

A Lucy, a Lena, a Cath or a Kate
Rebecca, or Bel, Mandy or Gail
No chat at my gate
And my heart starts to wail

My heart, it is hurting
My thoughts in a whirl
My eloquence stumbling
My hopes only curl

The pleasure, the need
Of voices once heard
Of vices indeed
My loins now not stirred

Do I wait now in hope
For the call of my love
Or, untie the rope
Of the now freed sweet dove
