Meadow of Wildflowers Galore

"A love was born in the meadows."

Font Size

There was a love worth finding
Hidden amongst the green fields
Of the vast rolling, English countryside.
Along the corridors of the valleys
A stream of gold, worthy of being swum
Towards the bestowed treasures
That opened up in a blaze of light
When I found you, my love.

In the picturesque wildflower meadows
With a multitude, of a million colours.
Of reds, yellows, oranges, whites and blues
That carpet the grassland floor.
Of buttercups, ragged robin and cuckoo flowers
That stretched far as the horizons
Towards the faraway woodland
That was planted in my heart for my love.

From which a stunningly, beautiful fragrance,
Caught my senses totally unawares
Like her favourite Chanel perfume, upon her skin
That spread throughout a carpet of bluebells
And drifted upon the soft spring breeze
Like a flutter of a million butterflies
Towards the canopy of snow white
From out of which love blossomed.

From which, a new found love
That was born deep from within,
And came from the wildfires
Like a Phoenix from its ashes
From the hot embers of the fire
That crackled, sparked like a firework
Upon the evening breeze
Which brought forth a new dawn

Through a sunset of crimson red
And burst out in a ray of light
Across the English countryside
That touched my inner soul.
A thirst I never knew I had
When you came into my life
Through a mirage of my imagination
But came true in an oasis of redemption.

But hidden from what my eyes could see
Over the horizons, of a new-found hope
On the day I found my one true love,
Who came to my senses
Like the fragrance of an English Rose
In hedgerows, or a beautiful song,
A melody so beautifully Divine
On the day I found you, my love.
