In a Chorus of Birdsong

Font Size

You and I,
Awake at dawn,
Witness the wonders
of life.

We rested on a blanket
amongst the
brand new sunlight,
As it appeared over the horizon
Touching the clearing of the forest.

You rested your head on my shoulder.
Wrapping my arm around your waist,
I pulled you closer.

In the crisp blue haze,
At the light of dawn,
A melodious chorus
Played amongst the trees.

An exquisite symphony,
Akin to a Mozart concert,
In our own outdoor amphitheater.

As the birdsong echoes
around the tranquil forest,
There are no distractions
From it’s delicate beauty.

You and I bare witness
To the crisp cadence,
Of this wondrous morning sequence

Holding you close,
In a loving embrace,
I kiss you softly.
Our perfect morning is complete.
