Tomorrow Belongs To Us

"Love is why we hope"

Font Size

When I look around the world today

I find such heartache and foul play

In every country, anger, and pride

How could tranquillity here abide?

There are those that need and want

Still, those that sneer and taunt

A tearful man, a hungry child

Even a loved one is to be exiled

Hateful words echoing in every clime

Let’s not speak of the war or crime

Is this what the world has come to

Where all that’s pure goes askew?

Certainly today, chaos does reign;

But hope? Beside you, that can never be slain

Because in your eyes I find

Exquisite peace refined

So in your arms, I’ll closely stand

Our destiny only we command

We’ll cast aside our vain despair

A smile and laugh we might even dare

And when the burden of the world gets too much

Come, my friends, my love, lean on me as your crutch

Together we’ll bear the shame and hurt

We’ve learnt that love truly does convert

Though today the world may mourn and weep

I promise in the morning, you’ll shine brighter than before

So cry on my shoulder, till they’re all gone

And Tomorrow.. Well. Tomorrow belongs to us.
