I never liked Halloween. We didn’t celebrate it when I was young. It was the Devil’s day after all.
What I do like is autumn. It heralds the coming of the Holidays, so I put out pumpkins to celebrate. Orange, white, blue, and gold ones are sprinkled on my tables and in the wreath on the door. They scent my candles and flavor my coffee.
Between the dropping temperatures and the transition of the season, I should be happy. It must be a hollow’s eve, because I am so empty without you here in this fall with me.
