Passion lost and gained

"As the flames burn out the fire starts again"

Font Size

In a flash he appeared and kept at me

Not letting up always chasing

Hesitant at first then I quickly dropped my guard

Letting him in was my mistake

Knew from the start it was to hot

Thought he could handle the flame

Too much mystery instead of honesty

But the heat persisted and passion was surmounted by none

The mutual craving was intense

Reality crept into the fantasy

I was delighted apparently he was not

But I am not the only one I thought

The distance grew overnight

As fast as the inferno began the flames burned out

Like a shooting star lighting the sky but fading fast

Coals still smolder where there was once a fire

Thoughts of that seemingly perfect match will persist

Another steps in and blankets me with reassurance

His heat warms me and moves me deeply like no other

A revelation occurs

I had right in front of me what I needed all along………
